Since the 1800’s people have enjoyed metal detecting. In the early days, the search for gold and precious metals was the primary goal for most metal detector users. The new technology was still in it’s infancy so proved far less accurate than today’s units. In 1881, the metal detector was used in a novel way as Alexander Graham Bell attempted to locate a bullet lodged in President James Garfield. Sadly, the metal bed frame made the task impossible, but the idea that the metal detector could be a useful tool outside of prospecting took hold.

You can establish which accessories you need by first determining exactly where you will end up performing the majority of your hunting.
